Music Supervision
Brian Jackson Harris - Music Supervisor

Brian Jackson Harris, Music Supervisor for "Film and TV Music Library", began his career in the
Entertainment Industry as a DJ in Michigan in the mid 80s. During this time he played guitar, synth,
and sang in several rocks bands. As an avid fan of video games, this initiated his on-going interest in
computers by learning to program video games. He owned one of the early Apple Macintosh computers
and an Atari 800 computer and began taking computer programming courses at age 15. This would
eventually lead to connecting his synthesizers to his computers through MIDI, and on to music production using all sorts of music software such as Cubase, Finale, Pro Tools, and 100s of virtual instrument plug-ins.

In 1989 Brian moved to Los Angeles, California and landed a position in the Marketing Department at
MGM Studios where he worked on such multi-million dollar box office films as Stargate, Goldeneye,
Thelma & Louise, Legally Blonde, and Die Another Day. Brian's career at MGM spanned 16 years,
during which time he was introduced to many Film Producers, Directors, and Music Supervisors who
advised and mentored Brian in music licensing. Brian continued to write, record, and produce music,
and his original song "A Little Closer" won 1st place in the Dance category of the USA Songwriting
Competition. His Asian influenced instrumental cue "Xian" placed as a finalist in the Instrumental
category. In 2002 Brian sang and played keyboards on a trance version of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably
Numb" which became a national dance club hit, and was highly praised on the Roger Waters website.

Brian graduated from UCLA Music Business in 2010 and has composed numerous cues for film and
television including a song licensed for "Walking Tall" starring The Rock on CBS and co-wrote the
theme song for the DVD "Beauty Shop" starring Queen Latifah. Brian has recently signed songs from
composer's such as Benoit Martin, Music Director for Cirque du Soleil.

As a Composer, Brian's writing styles are diverse, but he is best noted for his Electronic cues as he has
a vast collection of synthesizers and virtual synths from which to create intriguing cinematic landscapes.
Having been a DJ over the past several decades just natually transitioned into the role of
Music Supervisor since with both types of work he must keep his ear on what's hot
and his finger on the pulse of the music scene.

Brian also now custom builds his own music computers for his recording studio,
and builds custom music computers for other composers as well.
